A woman from Eastern Canada who survived post-tropical storm Fiona knows she's lucky to be alive.
As the powerful storm destroyed part of her southwestern Newfoundland town, Jocelyn Gillam was nearly swept away in the rushing water.
She was standing near her home Saturday morning when a storm surge hit, sweeping her underneath a nearby Jeep as she clung to the undercarriage for dear life.
Meanwhile, it's still too early to assess damage estimates, but the financial impact left will be substantial.
Alex Docherty, a potato farmer in Elmwood, P-E-I, estimates about $500,000 in damage on his farm alone.
Three of his equipment storage buildings were destroyed.
He adds the damage comes just as many farmers are getting ready to harvest their potato crops.
