Over $20-million to be spent on reducing wait times for many procedures, at Niagara Health and Hotel Dieu
Over $20.8-million provincial dollars to be spent on health care across Niagara, to improve operations and reduce wait times.
The Ontario government says this is for Niagara Health and Hotel Dieu, part of a $1.1-billion investment in Ontario hospitals from the 2026 budget, an annual increase for the 4th year in a row.
The money is to help keep emergency rooms open, support inflationary or other wage pressures, and reduce wait times for MRI, CT, cardiac and other services.
Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff says back in July GNMI Medical Imaging in St. Catharines was approved for expanded MRI and CT scan services.
