Small number of homes will lose water service
As part of the construction and upgrades on St. David's Road in St. Catharines and Thorold, repair work will begin today on a watermain along that stretch of road.
The region says the water service upgrade will take place today starting at 7 am until tomorrow at 7 am.
A small number of homes on St. David's Road will lose water service and the region says those affected have been notified.
Other residents and business owners in the area may experience changes in water pressure or water quality.
Regional officials add "We understand these repairs may cause some inconveniences. However, these upgrades are necessary. If there were to be an unexpected failure of this infrastructure, the impact would be far greater with a possible loss of water service for several days for emergency repair. By completing this upgrade work now, we can plan ahead for this service disruption and ultimately make Niagara Region’s water system more reliable and secure."
