OPP say this happened on the 401 Friday night near Guelph, vehicle fled, hit another vehicle
Five teenagers have been charged after a stolen vehicle crashed on the 401 near Guelph.
Police were called Friday night, just before 9, to reports of a stolen vehicle at a westbound service centre.
The driver sped off, and crashed into a passenger vehicle on the highway. Three people in that vehicle were sent to hospital with minor injuries.
Police have charged a 16-year old from Hamilton with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Operation causing bodily harm
- Failure to stop after accident
- Flight from peace officer
- Class G1 licence holder - unaccompanied by qualified driver (three counts)
- Disobey sign
- Fail to signal stop
4 more 16-year olds, from Hamilton, Dundas, and Mississauga have each been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Police add they will appear in court in Guelph on July 8th, and their names cannot be released due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
