An update from the City of St. Catharines on gathering information as it works for financial help from the province after summer flooding.
This will help to access the government's Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians program.
The city tells us reports included overland flooding, sewer backups, property damage and insurance coverage challenges.
1,250 unique properties were identified, 34 reported damage, and either denied insurance claims or no coverage, and 209 say insurance claim status is uncertain.
To this point, no provincial assistance has been offered, as local provincial and municipal politicians continue to advocate.
