Mandatory masks for indoor public spaces in Niagara will be the hot topic today.
Regional Council is holding a special meeting on the issue this afternoon.
It's been a pressing discussion across Niagara, with many people on both sides.
The online meeting starts at 4:30 p.m.
St. Catharines Mayor Walter Sendzik supports the idea and says many local businesses are already doing it.
Mandatory masks were supported by St. Catharines City Council and a draft bylaw will be considered on Monday.
Niagara Falls City Council will talk about the idea on Tuesday.
Mayor Jim Diodati says it's a good idea to wear a mask when physical distancing is difficult, but making them mandatory would be hard to enforce.
