Organizers of Hustle for Healthcare say attendance records also broken, for the Niagara Health Foundation
A staggering amount of money was raised during the Niagara Health Foundation's annual Gala Saturday night, raising money for the new South Niagara hospital.
Over $600,000 was donated, making it the most successful gala in the Foundation's history.
Organizers say this year's event, called Hustle for Healthcare, drew the largest attendance yet, nearly 800 people.
The highlight of the night was the "Build the Room" segment, hosted in part by Mayor Jim Diodati.
In just 20 minutes, $240,000 was raised, breaking last year's amount of $168,000.
It was hosted by Fallsview Casino Resort.
