This one is for how EarlyON centres help families
The Niagara Region has earned a provincial award for how it supports childrens' early learning and development.
The 2026 Local Municipal Champion Award was given for work last year at developing EarlyON Child and Family Centres, for more than just learning, but also centres where families can be connected to housing, mental health supports and family services.
The region says its 26 EarlyON centres are increasing efforts to reduce barriers for families to find help.
Last year, they welcomed 14,777 children, and connected over 13,000 parents and caregivers to programs and services.
