A man from Pelham has died after going into medical distress during a hike in the Niagara Gorge.
Around 11:45 yesterday morning, crews were called to the Niagara Gorge at the Niagara Glen after a 65 year old man experienced medical distress on the trail.
Investigators say the man had been part of a group on a hike.
Rescue crews discovered the man in critical condition, and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A 73 year old Pelham woman who was also part of the group was assessed by paramedics.
While the investigation continues, foul play is not suspected.
The Niagara Parkway was briefly closed during the rescue effort.
