Niagara Falls MPP and government minister trade accusations
The MPP for Niagara Falls is accusing the Ford government of ripping seniors from their families and forcing them into underfunded long-term care homes.
During question period yesterday, Wayne Gates added the premier wants to financially ruin seniors.
He wants the government to withdraw Bill 7.
Minister of Long-term care Paul Calandra fired back saying seniors want to be in homes, revealing Gates has voted against government funding in his riding.
The government says legislation will help seniors out of acute care hospitals, and Bill 7 will not be repealed.
