The Niagara Region's workers will get pay raises, and benefit improvements
A pay raise and improved benefits for workers at the Niagara Region's muncipally run long term care faclities.
Their union, CUPE 1263, says they ratified a collective agreement last week.
They did it without arbitration, as in previous years, which the union hopes for stronger partnership in years to come.
The improvements include a 10.5% wage adjustment over the life of the agreement, significant paramedical benefit improvements, vacation and other key items.
The union president says this will keep workers, and prevent burnout, as it represents 950 long-term care workers in 7 facilities in Niagara.
