Niagara is getting a one million dollar boost from the government to help its struggling tourism sector.
The money is part of a $13-million investment across the province to encourage people to visit attractions close to home.
The funding was announced yesterday afternoon through a Zoom call with Tourism and Culture Minister Lisa McLeod and Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff.
McLeod says the money from the provincial and federal governments is to encourage local tourism and talent.
Niagara tourism has been hard-hit, and the Region is waiting to enter stage two of reopening.
We were held back in the first wave of moving forward after a surge in cases in our migrant workers.
