A union representing hospitals to give report tomorrow showing insufficient funding to 2032
A hospital union says the Ontario government's funding plan to 2032, including for Niagara, is grossly insufficient.
The Ontario Council of Hospital Unions is having a press conference at the Niagara Falls public library tomorrow morning at 10, to reveal details of a report of a huge shortfall between hospital capacity and the government's 10-year plan.
The union says for the last two years Health Minister Sylvia Jones has repeatedly stated the government plans to add 3,000 staffed beds by 2032.
However, the union is pointing to various sources including StatsCanada, that shows a 17% increase in job vacancies over the last year, and a drop in beds since 2019.
It'll also show funding needed for Niagara Health to maintain current levels of inadequate service.
