The federal government is putting a little extra cash in parents' wallets.
Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development announced today that Canada Child Benefit payments will be increased.
For the 2021 - 2022 benefit year, the maximum annual benefit will be $6833 per child under the age of six, and $5,765 per child aged six to 17.
This is over $350 higher than when the CCB was first introduced five years ago.
The government is also providing extra support to help families whether the pandemic.
This year, families receiving CCB payments will get additional support of up to $1,200 per child under the age of six.
