Construction of a new interchange has started at Highway 5 and 6 in Waterdown.
Minister of Transport Prabmeet Sarkaria says drivers who use that area know how frustrating it is to sit, so the idea is to reduce gridlock and improve safety.
A new bridge will carry Highway 5 over 6, with ramps allowing traffic to move more efficiently.
The government adds a section of 5 will become 6 lanes, there'll be a new parking lot, and more paths for pedestrians and cyclists.
