Kenneth Henry is now officially the Deputy Chief of Administration for the Niagara Falls Fire Department.
Fire Chief Jim Boutilier says he is no stranger to the department.
"Coming from the floor and being one of the staff members for the last 27 years he just brings that knowledge and trust within the staff to the management team which will start to reinforce and start to make our relationships that much better."
Henry first joined as a firefighter back in 1993 before becoming a Captain in the suppression division in 2012 and an Acting Platoon Chief in 2014.
He had been filling in as the Acting Deputy Fire Chief of Administration since January and he was officially appointed to the job earlier today.
Henry will now spearhead the fire prevention division and the communications division.
