A sad update from Niagara regional police concerning a house fire in Port Colborne.
Police say a man who was hospitalized, in criticial, but stable condition, has died.
Emergency crews were originally called Monday afternoon to the McCain Street and Fielden Avenue area.
A man was on the roof of the house to escape the fire, while a woman, who got out of the house safely, put a ladder to the roof so he could escape.
They then told police another man was in the house, he was rescued, but taken to hospital in critical but stable condition.
Police say estimated damage is over $250,000.
