Police say it happened in Port Colborne, he's also facing weapon, impaired and failing to comply charges
A disturbance at a Port Colborne bar has led to a number of charges against a 40-year old local man.
Police were called last evening around 7, to the King and Main Street West area, where they found a man was threatening the bar's staff with a gun.
Police found the suspect in a vehicle in the parking lot, where they watched him throw a gun in the rear of the vehicle.
He then tried to back out, but collided with another parked vehicle.
After police arrested Cory Elliott of Port Colborne, they say they found a loaded rifle and pepper spray in the vehicle.
He is charged with:
- Uttering Threats
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm without Holding a Licence
- Possess Firearm other than Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly not holding a Licence
- Possession of a weapon
- Impaired Operation
- Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing today in St. Catharines.
There were no injuries.
