Community health providers in Niagara to get over $2 million from the province.
Several community health providers in Niagara are getting some money from the province.
The province is investing just over $2 million to support upgrades and repairs at Niagara Health, Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre, the Oak Centre in Welland, Arid Recovery Homes in Fort Erie and Wayside House of St. Catharines.
"These key investments at Niagara Health and Hotel Dieu Shaver through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund, as well as our local health service providers through the Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund, demonstrate the commitment of our government to local health care and hospital infrastructure in Niagara," said Sam Oosterhoff, MPP for Niagara West.
"The support is part of a provincial effort to build capacity and end hallway health care."
As well, Hamilton Health Sciences, which operates West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Grimsby, will get over $6 million.
This is part of a $182 million health care investment from the province.
