Welland's City Council had some extra security on hand but it wasn't because of the crowd of people there.
The Welland Tribune reports that Mayor Frank Campion said there was some activity on Facebook that was somewhat threatening to council.
He said when they get any sort of threat they inform police who then informs them on what to do.
The security was just there as an extra precaution.
