Grand opening will be on June 7th
Thorold's new Community Market is about to open.
An opening celebration will take place on June 7th at Battle of Beaverdams Park.
The event will include a special performance by Niagara party band The Figure Four, as well as face painting and balloon twisting.
We spoke to Mayor Terry Ugulini, who says the market will help a lot of local businesses.
"The goal of the Thorold Community Market is the support local businesses and cultivate resident's engagement and community pride. So what you can expect is community booths, food vendors and entertainment."
Attendees will get to check out farm stands, artisans, bakers and other local businesses.
The market will be open every Wednesday until August 30th, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
The City is accepting applications for vendors, entertainers, community groups and sponsors.
