Niagara Parks CEO expects continued growth, despite American filing
Niagara Parks CEO has been reassured by an American tourism company that boat tours on the Canadian side will not be impacted by bankruptcy filing.
David Adames says Hornblower met with Niagara Parks before seeking protection.
"The impact of the pandemic on their overnight cruise product, which is the American Queen product, unfortunately had a significant impact, and has not recovered. So, they were in the red in that line of business, so they're restructuring."
He's also pleased with how well tourism has recovered over the last 2 years on the Canadian side, with a strong 2024 expected.
But, he's also remaining cautious. "We're not fully recovered in terms of full visitation levels from certain markets like the US, Europe and Asia. It's going to take a bit longer to come back to pre-pandemic visitation levels."
He also says Hornblower and Niagara City Cruises are fully paid up with all their financial obligations to Niagara Parks for last year, and the boat tours will start March 28th.
