Legion War Memorial in St. Catharines vandalized.
A man has been arrested after damage was done to the Legion War Memorial in St. Catharines.
Police were called to the Victoria Lawn Cemetery around 7:20 this morning, and found the surrounding flowers and lighting system had been torn out and strewn across the monument.
Officers say multiple units attended the scene, and the suspect was arrested as he tried to flee.
Twenty-four year old Tristan Mason of no fixed address is facing mischief related charges, and a court date has been set.
Police believe there may be more witnesses, and anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
