Air Quality in Niagara Listed as "High Risk"

According to the province's Air Quality Health Index, Niagara's air quality is at a level 7, which is considered high risk

A word of warning if you plan to spend any time outdoors.

The air quality in Niagara continues to deteriorate, due to wildfire smoke.

Ontario's Air Quality Health Index says the region is currently in the high risk category, with a level 7 rating.

Residents are being advised to reduce the amount of activities they do outdoors.

While the air quality is expected to increase one level tonight, it's expected to hit a level 9 tomorrow.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the region.

The weather office says smoke from forest fires as far away as Quebec will persist into the weekend.
