Mosquitoes have tested positive for the West Nile virus in St. Catharines.
Public Health says no human cases have been reported but you should still take some precautions to protect yourself.
You should close all of your windows and doors and stay away from areas with standing or stagnant water on your property (bird baths, wheelbarrows, toys, etc.)
If you're spending time outside make sure you wear a long sleeve shirt, pants, socks and shoes.
You should also wear bug spray with DEET or Icaridin.
