Vaccine Could Help Fight Opioid Epidemic

The good news is from researchers at the University of Houston

A glimmer of hope in the fight against the opioid epidemic.

A team of researchers at the University of Houston say they've developed a vaccine that could prevent people from getting high on fentanyl.

The vaccine stops fentanyl from getting into the brain and could protect people inadvertently exposed to fentanyl, as well as those who are addicted and want to quit using.

The synthetic opioid is 50 to 100 times stronger than morphine and responsible for thousands of overdose deaths every year.
