Three year deal has yet to be ratified
A tentative deal has been reached between Ford and the union representing Canadian auto workers.
Unifor, which represents about 5,600 auto workers in Canada, was threatening to go on strike if a deal wasn't reached by midnight.
The union says the three year deal still needs to be ratified by its members.
Details of the tentative agreement have not been released.
Negotiations with Ford will likely set the stage for what Canadian workers will get in contracts from Stellantis and General Motors.
This comes as workers in the United States continue to strike against all three companies.
