Police say the suspect stole victim's phone, and stabbed him
A 16-year old boy is recovering from a stab wound after an assault on a St. Catharines transit bus.
Police tell us they were called late last night to the downtown terminal, where they found the teen.
He was taken to an out of town trauma centre, where he is in stable condition.
Police discovered he was sitting on the bus, when a man approached and stole his cell phone. The victim tried to get it back, but the suspect drew a knife and stabbed him.
After the assault, police say the suspect fled, but was soon caught with the knife.
Charged with aggravated assault is 31-year old Brandon Tracy of Niagara Falls, who has a bail appearance in a St. Catharines court today.
Police add the victim and suspect did not know each other.
