Littleton says she won't seek another term on St. Catharines council, in order to focus on her work in financial services.
St. Catharines Councillor Lori Littleton says she won't run for another term this fall.
In a letter to residents, Littleton says she can't seek re-election due to her work in the financial services industry.
"As some of you know, I work in the financial services industry and, in June, new provincial regulations came into force. Because of these changes, I moved to a different firm. In my industry, activities outside my work must be approved by a firm's compliance department."
Littleton says there has been an increase of codes of conduct being filed against councilors and mayors, sometimes for no reason at all, which could hurt her business.
Littleton has served as a member of council since December 2018.
