Saskatchewan indigenous leaders calling on Catholics to show solidarity with survivors
Saskatchewan indigenous leaders are asking Catholic worshippers to make their feelings known by praying at home instead of going to church.
David Pratt with the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations tells CTV News, anything that would help pressure the Catholic Church to do what's right would be good.
Pratt adding Pope Francis needs to say sorry for the church's role in residential schools.
Last week the Pope expressed his sorrow after the remains of 215 children were found buried at the site of a former residential school, run by the church, in Kamloops, B.C.
But he stopped short of issuing a full apology.
