Taking over former Women's Place safe house site
Pathstone is kicking off a new capital campaign today along with a new location in South Niagara.
The agency, which provides mental health services across Niagara to children and youth, will put down roots in Welland on River Road in the former Women's Place building.
Women's Place officials says all of their safe beds will be located at the Niagara Falls shelter and an outreach office will be opened at the Hope Centre in Welland in early April.
Once the property is transferred to Pathstone, it will be renamed River House, and will offer in person walk-in clinic services, one-on-one and group counselling for children, youth and their families.
Thanks to Mountainview Building Group every dollar donated will be matched 1:1 up to $250,000.
Construction is set to begin in April with a target to open River House by October.
