Public Health Ontario out with last year's numbers
Officials reporting fatal opioid overdoses increased by 60 percent last year compared to the year before.
Public Health Ontario reporting 2,422 opioid deaths in Ontario in 2020, many of them involving homeless people and those who lost jobs due to the pandemic.
Emergency department visits for overdoses also increased by nearly 20 percent to 12,513.
