Ontario's Science Advisory Table is urging the province to adopt a vaccination certificate system.
In a brief released yesterday, the table says the province could use certificates on a short term basis to re-open higher risk businesses like indoor dining and gyms sooner or at an increased limit.
It also suggests the system could have longer term benefits, such as providing a secure record of vaccination status.
Currently, Ontario provides paper slips as proof of vaccination when doses are received, and you can also view and download your status online.
However, officials also note that in order to adopt such a system, considerations need to be made surrounding legal issues and privacy.
