The Niagara Poverty Reduction Network has announced the Niagara SPCA and Humane Society has become a certified living wage employer at the champion level.
The Niagara SPCA and Humane Society has shelters in Niagara Falls, Welland and Port Colborne, and provides services such as low cost spay and neuter.
It has 15 full time and 22 part time employees.
In Niagara, the living wage has been calculated at $18.90 per hour, based on the costs of living and being involved in the community.
