Niagara Health says they're seeking advice from experts
Niagara Health isn't changing its masking rules, even as other hospitals are starting to relax theirs.
Officials say Niagara Health is getting advice from experts, and are reviewing new recommendations.
"We will then make decisions in collaboration with our regional hospital partners. Until that time, our current masking policy remains in place."
This comes as Windsor Regional Hospital and Bluewater Health in Sarnia have dropped requirements for masks in non-clinical areas like main lobbies and cafeterias.
As well, unless there is a COVID-19 outbreak, physicians will only have to wear a mask when they're less than two metres away from a patient and there is no physical barrier.
At the moment, Niagara Health is treating six patients for COVID-19, including two in the ICU.
