Marit Stiles Sole Contender for NDP Leadership

Confirmation vote scheduled for March 4.

Marit Stiles is set to be the next leader of Ontario's NDP.

Stiles is the only contender in the race after a deadline to enter passed at midnight.

The party says she was the only candidate to meet all of the requirements, including getting 100 signatures from at least four regions.

Niagara Falls MPP Wayne Gates had considered entering the race but announced last week that he wouldn't seek the party's top job.

A confirmation vote still needs to be held and is currently scheduled for March 4.

However, party officials say the date could be moved up.
