The first mandatory mask bylaw in Niagara starts today.
You will need to wear a mask in all indoor public spaces in St. Catharines.
People with medical conditions and children 10 and under are exempt.
The city will review the bylaw at the end of next month.
City bylaw officers will have the power to enforce the rule, but the city is focusing on education.
Posters will be on display and the city is asking local businesses to uphold the new bylaw.
Businesses will be allowed to refuse customers without masks from entering the store.
