UPDATE: Police have charged a 33-year-old man from St. Catharines with forcible entry, resisting arrest and mischief under $5,000.
The NRP says the man put up a fight after his arrest yesterday and tried kicking the windows while in the police cruiser.
Police will not release the man's identity, in order to protect the identity of the victim.
The NRP had to call in it’s Emergency Task Unit, after a man barricaded himself inside a St. Catharines home.
They got the call at around 11:00 a.m. yesterday
Police say the man forced himself into the home in the Old Pine Trail and Vine Street area, and threatened a woman inside.
They did receive information that the man may have been armed.
Police were able to take the man into custody without incident just before 4:30 p.m.
The investigation continues and charges are pending.
