Bylaw officers with the Town of Fort Erie confirm that they received information about the licensed short-term rental property where two women were found dead last week.
They say that the property was operating despite emergency COVID-19 orders from the province.
Fort Erie bylaw officers conducted their own investigation to determine whether the owner was allowed to rent to the individuals present
On Friday, Fort Erie Bylaw Enforcement laid charges for providing "a short-term rental accommodation to individuals other than individuals in need of housing."
