Niagara home builders feel the demand won't be met anytime soon
There's not too much optimism from Niagara home builders the need for new homes will be met soon enough.
The Standard is reporting the Niagara Home Builders Association sees too much opposition in red tape, despite the demand for new homes.
Executive Director Chuck McShane says the cost and availability of materials, rising interest rates, and finding enough skilled labour to do the work all impede progress.
However, he feels provincial plans to build 1.5 million homes in 10 years can help, as legislation to remove many of the fees and charges homebuilders face will help.
