Enhancements will include upgrades to the washroom and the installation of a hard-surface pathway.
The federal government has announced an investment of over $313,000 to cover the cost of enhancements at Maple Park in Welland.
The money will come from the Canada Community Revitalization Fund.
Three critical upgrades will be made, including the construction of new accessible washrooms and storage space, the installation of a hard-surface pathway to the washroom, and the installation of garbage/recycling bins, trees and "Let's Chat" benches.
Currently, the facility is not inline with standards required under the Accessibility for Ontarians Disabilities Act.
Construction for the project is expected to start September 29th, 2021, and portable washrooms will be installed while construction is underway.
