St. Catharines native to remain honourary member
A St. Catharines native who left an indelible mark on the International Olympics is retiring.
Dick Pound will step down after reaching the International Olympic Committee mandatory retirement age of 80 next March.
Pound joined the IOC in 1978 and was closely involved in the development of anti-doping rules.
Pound was a swimmer who competed in Rome's Summer Games in 1960 while a law student at McGill.
He will continue as an honourary member.
