Some changes to pandemic measures at Canada's borders are on the way.
Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos telling reporters today that an announcement will be made next week.
Duclos says the worst of the Omicron wave has passed, and measures will be "tweaked" accordingly.
Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Theresa Tam noting due to the infectious nature of the Omicron variant, stopping all cases at the border is challenging.
Currently, the federal government is advising Canadians against non-urgent foreign travel.
Anyone who travels within Canada must be vaccinated against COVID-19, and international travelers must test for the virus before crossing the border and upon arrival at an airport.
