The province is expanding its emergency childcare programas schools remain closed for another two weeks.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce announcing over the weekend the decision to expand the free childcare program to include other front line workers beyond those who work in health care.
Canada Border Service and RCMP have been added to the list as well as individuals who work in homeless shelters, violence against women services, victims services, interpreters for the deaf, food safety inspectors, education staff who must be in schools, and employees of a hotel or motel acting as an isolation centre.
Lecce says the program can accommodate roughly 20,000 families.
