The season officially arrived at 5:13 this morning
We are kicking off the first day of summer with a heat warning for much of the province including Niagara.
Temperatures are expected in the low to mid thirties today and tomorrow.
Today also marks the summer solstice making it the longest day of the year, in other words, it is the day with the most daylight hours.
For those wishing to celebrate summer's arrival , you are invited to take part in Niagara Nature Tours' 14th annual Summer Solstice, Drumming Down the Sun & Yoga on the Beach celebration starting at 6:30 pm at Charles Daley Park, West Beach in Jordan and at 7:00 pm at Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie
Organizors say the annual event in Ryerson Park in Niagara on the Lake has been cancelled because there is no longer parking on the streets but a new location should be ready for 2023..
