Police say Niagara Falls woman facing impaired driving and drug charges
A Niagara Falls woman is facing a number of charges after a collision in Port Dover.
Police were called yesterday morning, just after 8, to a crash between a pickup truck and car near the Port Dover lift bridge, on Hamilton Plank Road.
Police say there were minor injuries to both drivers.
However, after doing a roadside sobriety test on the pickup driver, they arrested 35-year old Kara Pepper, and then found suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine and hydromorphone in the truck.
Charges are:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs,
- Dangerous operation,
- Driving while under suspension,
- Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit,
- Possession of a Schedule I substance - methamphetamine,
- Possession of a Schedule I substance - opioid (other than heroin),
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin)
She remains in custody pending a bail hearing in Simcoe.
Police add if you see a driver who you suspect may be impaired, call 911.
