Niagara Parks police confirm the news in conjunction with New York Parks police
Tragedy on the US side of the Niagara gorge.
The Standard is reporting a woman is dead and her young son in criticial condition, this after emergency crews were called to an area near Cave of the Woods early Monday afternoon to reports someone had fallen over the rail.
New York State Parks police say the woman and her child fell about 90 feet.
Authorities believe this was not an accident.
