The City of Welland is taking steps, to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
An upcoming General Committee meeting has been cancelled. It will supposed to take place on Tuesday March 24th.
All city staff who have recently traveled outside the country have been told to self-isolate for two weeks.
The City has also decided to close the following facilities;
- The Jack Ballantyne Memorial Youth Arena & Main Arena
- The Welland Community Wellness Complex
- The Welland Public Library (all three branches)
- The Welland Museum
- The Welland International Flatwater Centre
- Welland Market Square (including Welland Farmers’ Markets)
- Youngs Sportsplex
- Youth Innovations
- Chippawa Park Community Center
- Hooker St Community Center
- Cooks Mills Hall
- Carrie Lynn Pinard Centre
- Sports Complex on Quaker Road
They're not scheduled to reopen until April 5th.
