Car strikes telephone, stop sign.
One person is facing numerous charges following an incident in St. Catharines.
Around 8:50 p.m. last night, a resident contacted police about a suspected impaired driver at the intersection of Lake Street and Dufferin Street.
The caller told officers the car, a white 1999 Pontiac Grand-Am, hit a telephone and a stop sign, then fled the scene.
Police located the vehicle a few minutes later near Geneva Street and St. Paul Street.
Multiple cruisers boxed the Pontiac in to prevent it from moving further.
28 year old Sheen Thomas Casey if Welland was arrested and faces several charges, as well as a 90 day license suspension.
Casey is due in court July 29th.
