NRP says suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a man from the Hannon area.
Officers were called to a home near Lampman Crescent and Keefer Road in Thorold around 2:30 yesterday.
Investigators say they received a report of a man inside the residence who may have had possession of a gun.
Detectives have identified the suspect as 37 year old James McGowan.
He's wanted on one charge of failing to comply with a release order.
McGowan is considered armed and dangerous, and you're advised to call 911 immediately if you spot him.
